Day 11 -- Making Change

Group 1 Regina Tsang 3A (24)  Today we went to the YMCA campsite for the low ropes activities. Although we were supposed to be doing low ropes, we ended up doing high ropes, which we preferred. We all broke out of our comfort zone and faced the challenges fearlessly. We first took the challenge of climbing up to the t op by stepping on wooden stairs and removing other obstacles. Most of my group members succeeded at last and reached the top, though some of them decided to get down in the middle. They all were so brave to have tried and stepped ahead. We all had a great experience and our bravery in facing challenges was enhanced. We were all so tired after playing the ropes.  After having a wonderful and delicious lunch, we had a short period of lesson about our community and making change. We should be a servant leader by including everyone so that we can listen to others’ opinion and prevent conflicts. We had a marvellous day with our leaders and group mates. At night...

Day 10 -- Goal Setting

Group 1 Christy Chu 3A (6) Today, a lady from Brescia came to have a lesson with us, talking about Canada. There were also 2 other girls staying with her and one of them also came from Hong Kong and the other has just graduated from Brescia. They both talked about their own experience. I think the activity was well-planned as the girl from Hong Kong might understand us better and the other girl could share with us her experience about the advantages and disadvantages of studying at Brescia. Then, we went to Kustermans Farm to pick blueberries. It was fun and this was my first time picking blueberries. Although it was hot and there were  many insects, I still picked the blueberries successfully. At night, we painted our nails. It was quite interesting as I have never painted nails with such a large group of people. I hope I can keep enjoying the last few days with my teammates. Day 9 -- Teamwork

Group 1 Olivia Poon 3A (20) Today we had a lesson about teamwork and the importance of it.  Both a humble leader and a group of cooperative teammates are needed to finish a task as a team. We prepared for the cultural night in the afternoon. Our home group was assigned as the preparation team and we were allocated to work on different tasks like chopping the pork or piecing the bean. Although everyone was very tired after finishing our tasks, we do think that we have done a great job by cooperating with one another. We enjoyed preparing the dishes and it was really a valuable learning experience. Group 2 Bella Ko 3A (11) In the morning, we had a lesson on teamwork and got to make a dream collage and mine consisting of mostly food which was pretty much what I like the most. Afterwards, we went to the kitchen to prepare for culture night and I was in charge of cutting the cucumbers into slices. I progressively got better as it went on but my hand was very sore after.
